The Cell

  • The Cell Theater 338 West 23rd Street New York, NY, 10011 United States (map)

Founders performs the NYC premier of Sacred Space, a 7-song cycle of original works featuring the poetry of Edgar Allan Poe. Combining musical styles of plainchant, West Coast jazz, and neoclassicism, this cycle is a somber yet unorthodox exploration of spiritual life. The title, Sacred Space, alludes to the interweaving of religion, reverence, and death - some of the most central themes in Poe's writings.

Founders will also be integrating arrangements of Messiaen's Quartet For The End Of Time, Radiohead, and original songs to complement and illuminate the solemn themes of Sacred Space
